General Notes  
please note - due to extensive road works there is a change of bike course from last year 

  • All turning corners on the bike will have Traffic Management and will have cones marking a turning lane for you to use.  There will be marshals with fluro vests on at all turning corners - if you pass corners with no cones and no marshal  - keep going straight ahead. 

  • Take the time to look at the course maps and know where you are going.  Although we have marshals on every turning corner please understand that they are there for your safety, not to direct you on the course. It is your responsibility to know the course.

  • The distances are as accurate as we can get them using public roads etc.  They may vary slightly on the day.  

  • Due to the construction of the new pool at the Selwyn Aquatic Centre the transition this year will be in the sealed car park

Triathlon Short Course 
Swim 100m: 4 lengths of the Selwyn Aquatic Centre pool. Exit pool through the exit to the car park to transition. (teams tag at bike transition)
 

Bike 10km:  Run or walk with bike from transition through the "Cycle Exit" gate, exit right onto Goulds Rd towards the dog park, across by the white fence on the cycle lane, left into Lowes Rd, left into Dunns Crossing Rd, right onto Goulds Rd, (this will be marshaled with a stop/go to get you across the road safely),  left into Selwyn Rd, left into East Maddisons Rd, right into Goulds Rd (this will be marshaled with a stop/go system to get you across the road safely) , straight through the roundabout on Goulds/Broadlands Drive, right into pool car park (in and out lanes will be marked and marshaled). Dismount your bike at dismount line and run or walk your bike back to transition  (See 10km course map here)

Run or Walk 3km: Exit through the "Run Exit" gate of transition, right onto Goulds Rd, right on the footpath into Springston Rolleston Rd, past the school, right into Broadlands Dr, cross over to Foster Park side (will have marshals to cross you safely), left park onto footpath in Foster Park by the new playground, turn right onto sealed path (at sign) and follow the marked course on the path to the car park on Broadlands Dr, follow path towards the playground, cross over Broadlands Drive at marshaled point by the playground, left onto the footpath in front of pool on Broadlands Drive, follow marked course to the finish.

Duathlon Short Course
Run or Walk 1km:  Out and back on Goulds Road. Start will be on Goulds Rd by path entrance to the car park, north down Goulds Rd towards Lowes Rd, turn around a cone & marshal before the corner at 500m and return back on Goulds, left on the path into transition through the "Run entry" gate. Run or walk with bike from transition through the "Cycle Exit" gate, exit right onto Goulds Rd towards the dog park, across by the white fence on the cycle lane, left into Lowes Rd, left into Dunns Crossing Rd, right onto Goulds Rd, (this will be marshaled with a stop/go to get you across the road safely),  left into Selwyn Rd, left into East Maddisons Rd, right into Goulds Rd (this will be marshaled with a stop/go system to get you across the road safely) , straight through the roundabout on Goulds/Broadlands Drive, right into pool car park (in and out lanes will be marked and marshaled). Dismount your bike at dismount line and run or walk your bike back to transition(See course map here - 2 laps of the 10km bike course)
 

Run or Walk 5km: Exit through the "Run Exit" gate of transition, right onto Goulds Rd, right into Springston Rolleston Rd, right onto Broadlands Dr, cross over at marshaled crossing to Foster Park side of Broadlands, left into Foster Park on path by playground,  follow the path to the exit turning right onto footpath on Dynes Rd to the corner of Dynes/Goulds Rd, turn right on the path back into Foster Park, follow the path and marked course which will take you right past the lake and then left behind a building to meet the 3k course at the toilet block and drink station,  the marked course on the path will then continue around Foster Park to Broadlands Dr and towards the playground, continue past the cross over for 250mtrs towards Springston Rolleston Rd, turn around a marked cone (will be marshaled) and 250mtrs back to cross the road at marshaled point before the entrance to the Pool, left straight down the footpath on Broadlands Drive following the marked lane to the finish line.

Duathlon Long Course
Run 1km: Start will be on Goulds Rd by path. The run/walk is approx 500m on Goulds Rd, turn around at marshal and return back, left on the path into transition through the "Run entry" gate. (See 1km course map here)

Transition Map

The Transition and flow of the event is on the attached PDF. On the day there will be marshals, signs, taping and arrows for you to follow. The flow will become obvious as you move around it. See the Transition Map here

Mum's & Bub's

There will be an area off to the side of transition for Dad's or carers to have your buggy & baby ready for when you come back from your bike ride.  You will rack your bike then collect your buggy and exit through the "Run Exit" gate to follow the run/walk course.
