Road Biking Group

Our bike group is all about helping each other to learn to ride with others and enjoying the company of other fantastic women.  Everyone is welcome, we split into groups depending on fitness and ability. 

I do update this page each Monday but we may from time to time change the start venue either due to weather of just for a change, so keep checking this page and Facebook for details

I do send out an additional newsletter to our training group.  (Covers Swimming, Cycling and Run/Walk groups). If you would like to receive this email reminder email us on traininggroups@womenstri.co.nz with your name and email address.

Wet Weather alternative: If the weather is not good for road cycling we change to a Mountain Bike ride at McLeans Island track (opp entrance to Orana Park).  Meeting at 9:30am in the main carpark. The decision will be made on the Friday so either check on here for details or text Barb on 027 271 9721 to check.  We do have  a text list for changes to the group ride, if you would like to be on this list either text Barb or email to info@womenstri.co.nz

Join us for a coffee at Silverbacks Cafe at Cracroft Shops after the ride.

Who will these rides cater for?
Everyone
- regardless of your fitness and experience level - all you need is the desire to ride and be around other fantastic women.

What is the purpose of the group?
An opportunity to meet and ride with others, pick up tips, gain confidence and have fun while getting fitter!

New to cycling?
Come along and join in, there is a group for you.  Mountain bikes or all terrain bikes are fine.  The distance and route depends on who is there on the day.

How are the rides organised?
We split into groups depending on fitness levels and ability
Distances range from 10-15km (beginners group), 20-30k, 30-40k and a 50k plus
Groups and routes decided on the morning depending on weather and who is there

This is a group ride which we can learn and help each other.  I will be there as often as possible, the groups are informally organised on the day and I will always make sure there is an experienced person to be with the beginners group but please be aware that none of the rides include any formal riding skills tuition.  The rides are on public roads and all normal road rules apply to each person.  We do not take any responsibility for your personal or equipment safety.
