The Event Objective

The series began in 1992 with an objective to encourage women of any fitness level, ability or age to take on the personal challenge of setting a goal, training and experiencing the thrill of completing a triathlon or duathlon. This is our passion and mission.

Why a Series?

One event is a challenge, but we love challenges so Event 1 is to get you going, Event 2 and Event 3 increase in distance.  Our challenge to you is to keep shifting the goal posts....

You do not have to take part in all three events, you may enter any one of the events individually - but if you enter and take part in the Series there are added benefits for series entrants only.

  1. A certificate with each event time and placing.
  2. At each event points are awarded based on your finishing place in your age group category. At event 3 these points are totalled and medals are presented to the first three place getters in each category. To
  3. There will be a major spot prize draw including a Road bike from Fleet Cycles (valued at approx $1200), running packages, gym memberships and much more. Each event also has fantastic spot prizes that everyone entered is eligible for.  The Major Spot Prizes are a separate draw which is for Series entrants only.

To qualify for series points you must take part and finish all three event.

The PhysioMed Women’s Series is unique

We recognize that not everyone wants to or can run so we have a separate run and walk section.

The Triathlon/Duathlon, Run and Walk Section results are in 10 year age groups.

Although the series is about you challenging yourself we celebrate and recognise the first  three places in each Triathlon/Duathlon, Run/Walk and 10 year age group.

Each event prize giving has a fantastic array of spot prizes from our event partners

The PhysioMed Series is not just about organising three events, it is about an all year around lifestyle of encouraging women to keep active, enjoy training, making amazing friendships, achieving goals, taking on other events, learning and so much more.

To achieve this we have:

Training groups: that are for everyone - it does not matter what your fitness level is, what age you are these groups will encourage you to get active and stay active..  Join us at our weekly  swim run walk  cycling  groups.  We ignore the winter and keep going all year around!

Seminars: keep an eye on the home page and newsletters for details.

Newsletters: a regular newsletter keeps you up to date with what is happening, motivates and has articles and information of interest.  If you enter the series or a single event you will be added to the email list,  or you can subscribe by filling out the form here or email us at subscribe@womenstri.co.nz to be added to this list.

I look forward to seeing you at a training group and the events....
